When Mom and Dad returned from their sailing circumnavigation in 1966, they were anxious to play in the dirt: Dad to build, Mom to garden. Their manager, Dick Marshall, was another unfettered-by-rules-and-regulations man, so he and Dad teamed up to build this house and the adjacent Bridge House. Dick had the backhoe (his “runter”), Dad built a scale model for plans, and away they went. Trout House is built into Oak Creek and the creek is right there, ten feet straight down. You really can fish right off the patio. 1 bedroom (King bed), and a Queen Murphy bed and rock fireplace in the living room. 1 full bath, and the kitchen looks upstream at the creek and canyon.
